At Sports Ball 2026, our Women's XC team received their award for the Most Improved Team 25/26! This is a huge achievement for the club as we work towards improving across the board, and shows how much hard work the women's xc team has been putting in recently.
WUAXC Women's XC won their division in the Midlands League, and are now competing in Division 1 for next year! As well as that, they performed very well at BUCS, and will be looking to carry the momentum into next year and beyond.
Exceptional congratulations and thanks must go to Jess Morris (pictured below, far left), who captained our women's cross country team last year. Jess was instrumental in the team improving and encouraging more women into the club and into racing. She worked incredibly hard all year, and we are extremely grateful to her for all of her efforts.
As always we are going to continue looking to improve, and hope to perform strongly next year in both BUCS and league races. Congratulations again to all the women who raced and trained with us this year, and here's to similar success going forward!
We are very excited to announce that Joshua Bain-Sinclair is joining us for next year as a throws coach! Joshua is an international Discus and Shotput Thrower who has competed at both the Commonwealth Games and European Championships. He has an athletics coaching licence with throws specialisation as well as previous experience coaching, and is a European bronze medallist in discus.
Joshua is going to be coaching during the 2026-27 academic year with us. This is a very exciting opportunity to diversify as a club and improve our overall performance, as well as hopefully introduce plenty of new faces to WUAXC and to athletics.
If you are interested in throwing this year, keep an eye on our Timetable as we will be updating that when we know what time the sessions will be held at, and follow us on Instagram to keep an eye on announcements!
